Commercial Lighting Case Study
Open since 1798, Rules is the oldest restaurant in London and one of the most celebrated in the world. Throughout their long history the tables of Rules have been crowded with writers, artists, lawyers, journalists and actors. With such an historic venue we created a system and programmes that work sympathetically with the surroundings to create effects as subtle and discrete as the service offered to some of London’s most famous residents for over 200 years.
When Rules were seeking to improve and manage the ambience in their restaurant they turned straight to HTSP. A Lutron Homeworks system controls lighting throughout the day to ensure the required ambience is achieved. We programmed a number of automated light scenes which create different atmospheres in different areas (including additional special settings for the private rooms) to ensure both the venue and the great British food look at their best. Rules benefit from energy cost savings and reduced maintenance costs as the lifespan of the equipment is extended through efficiency.
